Sri Lanka women's national cricket team
The Sri Lanka women's national cricket team represents Sri Lanka in international women's cricket. One of eight groups competitory within the ICC Women's Championship (the highest level of the sport), the team is organized by the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), a full member of the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Sri Lanka created it's in the future International (ODI) debut in 1997, against The Netherlands, and later within the year participated within the 1997 tourney in India. The team has since participated in each edition of the globe Cup, with a fifth-place end at the 2013 event being its best performance. At the globe Twenty20, Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka has likewise vied at each tournament, though the team has ne'er progressed past the primary spherical. Sri Lanka vies in its initial and solely matched game thus far in April 1998, defeating West Pakistan.
HISTORY
1990
Sri Lanka's international debut came in 1997 with a 3 match ODI series against the Netherlands, that they lost 2–1. This was a part of their preparation for the globe Cup in India the subsequent month, within which they reached the quarter-finals, losing to an England country. The following year they hosted a tour by a Pakistan, winning the 3 ODIs yet as what was the primary match for each country. It remains Sri Lanka's sole Test match. The Netherlands toured Sri Lanka once more in 1999, and now the Sri Lankans were way more thriving, winning all 5 ODIs
2000
Sri Lanka finished sixth within the 2000 tourney, and their next international engagement was against Pakistan reception in 2002, winning all six ODIs. They also won all six ODIs in an away series against the West Indies the following year.In 2004 they hosted the inaugural Women's Asia Cup, which was reduced to a series against India after the withdrawal of Pakistan. They lost the series. The following year they once more finished sixth within the tourney. In 2005/06, they visited Pakistan to require half within the second Asia Cup, finishing as runners-up to an Asian country.
2010
In 2014, allegations of statutory offense by country officers surfaced. Some players were apparently compelled to perform sexual favors for the officials in order to earn and/or keep their place in the national team.[8]On 2013 Women's Cricket tourney, country beat England country in a very pool match, that was a serious upset in Women's ODI history. England area unit world's top-ranked team and the country is in and eventually, they finished as fifth within the rankings.On eight August 2018, when a five-year gap since his previous spell accountable, Harsha American state sylva was reappointed because of the head coach of the team by the SLC.[10][11]
